Glad to be back at work

I was off on vacation for too long, so I was quite happy to get back to work. I’ve been trying all day to use this reverse psychology on myself but it really hasn’t worked. Fact is, I wasn’t too thrilled about vacation being over; add to that, every task on my to do list today ended up causing me trouble of some sort – it all made for a frustrating day. 

One positive for sure, I was able to get out and jog a mile, uncomfortably, to kick off my training program for the P.E.I. event in mid-October. I did find the slow jog a little more comfortable than walking, go figure, but I’ll take it. 

And today was my mudder’s (that would be “mother’s” for non locals) seventy-fifth birthday so we stopped by after work for some supper and birthday cake. After the birthday celebrations, we headed home, I completed a stretching session and was finally able to “put the fire out” that felt like it was burning in my back and hips all day. Let’s hope for a good (comfortable) night’s sleep. 

Smoothie for breakfast, frozen dinner for lunch (does that make sense?), Teen burger and a KFC drumstick for supper with a small piece of chocolate cake for dessert – I’m ok with this, considering the occasion.
