Summer's over

September 1st. Where did 2019 go?

Let’s be honest, the days from now until the end of the year always go like a flash. Christmas shopping chatter will soon echo throughout the household, so essentially the year is over. It’s the time of year of mixed emotions – a little sad that work and school are back in, but a little happy that there will be some structure again, a routine, an opportunity to live with some discipline.

Awake at 610a today, that’s when Andrew got up to use the washroom and decided to slam the toilet seat down – the one self-lowering seat in our house is teaching him some bad habits. Well, at least he’s respectful enough to put the seat down.

So the bedroom built-ins are moving along, despite the obvious reason for a slow down the past few days, just the upper cabinets to go. I’d like to try to do a bit more today, but I’m really focusing on a quick recovery, so that means another couple of days of resting and stretching. I might hit the deck for some sun and a bit of reading this afternoon. We’ll see.

Watched the Blue Jays get no-hit (again) by Justin Verlander of the Astros, funny how quickly a baseball game can go when there’s good pitching – it was about two and half hours from start to finish.

I spent a bit of time in the sun today, but for the most part took it easy indoors- three stretching sessions and a couple of new moves to try to unglue my pelvis – a little more improvement today.

Had a couple of meals of toast today, a sub for supper and a healthy snack of Doritos and M&M’s after supper – tomorrow we start down a more serious road – playtime is over.
