The weights will wait

Yesterday was horrible. Rolling out of bed was painful, stretching was a torturous chore. I really doubted any progress I thought I had made up to that point. I skipped the scheduled weight-training session. Given the way I was feeling and the type of injury I’m rehabbing, lifting weights probably wasn’t a good idea. Maybe the light jogging/running is a bit much too, but it hasn’t set me back, so it will continue. The weights, however, will wait. 

Today has been better, almost wonderful (in relative terms). Felt ok getting out of bed and had a decent stretching session. I used a new memory foam pillow designed to go between my knees while I’m sleeping on my side and keep everything in the proper alignment. The pillow stayed put, which is good, just not sure if the pillow has anything to with feeling better this morning or if it is just a natural progression. Probably a bit of both. 

By 1:00p I was still on my feet at my stand-up desk, a major improvement over the past couple of days. Back issues are funny, at least mine are – I always show signs of improvement for a few days and then everything goes sideways making me wonder if I’ll ever get back to “normal”, and then things start improving again. 

Still standing!

Two whole miles on the schedule for today. I was quite pleased with today’s training session. Had another stretching session when I got home and then chilled-out watching some t.v. – my kind of Friday night. 

Had a smoothie for breakfast, frozen dinner for lunch, my Friday evening ritual for supper (Singapore noodles from China House!). Like I said, my kind of Friday night.
