Love a good nap

Up around 500a today when Andrew got up for a bathroom visit so that kind of did it for me. I then heard chatting between Andrew and his sleepover buddy, Ben, around 600a; that was it for any more sleep this morning. I made pancakes for the boys and they spent the rest of the morning playing in Andrew’s bedroom.

Didn’t do a whole lot today, the wind would blow the head off ya’ as they would say around these parts, so I just stayed in. The windy conditions are part of what’s left of Hurricane Dorian – we got away pretty good, unlike other parts of Atlantic Canada and the other places Dorian visited before us. St. John’s is a windy place so wind gusts to 80-100 km/h are not unusual – it just isn’t fun to run in – it just isn’t fun to do anything in. Today’s 2.5 mile run will be moved to tomorrow, forecasted to be a little less breezy – an extra day of rest for my back won’t hurt.

I cut my stretching sessions down to two today from my usual daily three. I planned to cut it down tomorrow, but a wonderful, unscheduled nap in the afternoon caused me to miss a session. I love a good nap. ❤️ I must have been recovering from the past two early mornings. Overall, the back is coming along fine, I’m happy with where I am right now in my rehab – I should be able to resume resistance training as scheduled next week. Resistance training is so important.

I had Kashi for breakfast again, but along with the vanilla yogurt that I usually mix with it, I threw in a few chopped strawberries; today it tasted like twigs and wood chips mixed with vanilla yogurt and strawberries. A peanut butter sandwich for lunch and a chicken Alfredo-y dish for supper rounded out my intake for the day. I made extra supper tonight so we have our lunches looked after for tomorrow.
